Crispy, sweet, and perfect for dipping: Apple Fries

Ingredients
4 large tart/crisp apples (Granny Smith, Pink Lady, or Honeycrisp)
1 cup whole milk
1 cup all-purpose flour
4 tablespoons granulated sugar, divided (1 tablespoon + 3 tablespoons)
1 tablespoon cornstarch
1½ teaspoons cinnamon, divided (1 teaspoon + ½ teaspoon)
¼ cup vegetable oil, for frying
Instructions
1. Peel and core the apples, then slice them into thin fry-shaped pieces. Pat them dry with a paper towel to remove excess moisture.
2. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the milk, flour, 1 tablespoon sugar, cornstarch, and 1 teaspoon cinnamon until smooth. This will be your batter.
3. In a separate small bowl, combine the remaining 3 tablespoons sugar with ½ teaspoon cinnamon. Set aside for coating.
4. Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
5. Dip the apple slices into the batter, coating them evenly, then carefully place them into the hot oil.
6. Fry for 2–3 minutes per side until golden brown and crispy.
7. Remove the apple fries from the oil and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
8. While still warm, roll the fries in the cinnamon-sugar mixture until well coated.
9. Serve immediately with your favorite dipping sauce — caramel, chocolate, or whipped cream.
