Crispy, sweet, and lightly spiced—these homemade apple chips are a healthy snack made easily in the air fryer!
Ingredients:
2 large apples (Honeycrisp, Gala, or your favorite variety)
1 tsp ground cinnamon
¼ tsp nutmeg (optional, for extra warmth)
Instructions:
Prep the Apples:
Wash and dry the apples thoroughly.
Core the apples (optional, you can leave the seeds if slicing very thin).
Slice the apples very thinly (about 1/8-inch thick) using a sharp knife or mandoline for even cooking.
Season the Slices:
In a small bowl, mix the cinnamon and nutmeg (if using).
Lightly sprinkle the spice mix over both sides of the apple slices.
Air Fry:
Preheat the air fryer to 300°F (150°C) for 2-3 minutes.
Arrange the apple slices in a single layer in the air fryer basket (work in batches if needed to avoid overcrowding).
Cook for 8-10 minutes, then flip the slices and cook for another 5-8 minutes until crisp and lightly golden.
Check frequently to prevent burning—thinner slices cook faster!
Cool & Crisp Up:
Remove the apple chips and let them cool on a wire rack—they’ll crisp up further as they cool.
Repeat with remaining slices.
Serve or Store:
Enjoy immediately, or store in an airtight container for up to 3 days (if they last that long!).
Tip: For extra sweetness, lightly brush slices with honey before air frying.
