Ingredients:
For the Crust:
2 cups all-purpose flour
½ cup granulated sugar
1 cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed
¼ teaspoon salt
For the Apple Filling:
4 medium apples, peeled and diced
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
½ cup brown sugar
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
¼ teaspoon ground nutmeg
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
For the Streusel Topping:
1 cup all-purpose flour
½ cup brown sugar
½ cup unsalted butter, melted
½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
For the Caramel Drizzle:
½ cup caramel sauce (store-bought or homemade)
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a 9x13-inch baking pan with parchment paper and lightly grease.
In a mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, salt, and cubed butter for the crust. Use a pastry cutter or your hands until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Press evenly into the prepared pan to form the crust. Bake for 12–15 minutes until lightly golden.
While the crust bakes, prepare the apple filling. Toss diced apples with flour, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and vanilla extract until evenly coated.
Spread the apple mixture over the pre-baked crust.
For the streusel topping, mix flour, brown sugar, melted butter, and cinnamon until crumbly. Sprinkle evenly over the apple layer.
Bake for 30–35 minutes until the top is golden and the apples are tender.
Remove from the oven and cool for 15 minutes. Drizzle caramel sauce generously over the top before slicing into bars.
