Puff pastry with ham and cheese


 


This recipe is ideal for anyone looking for something quick, hearty, and truly delicious. Whether as a snack, a quick dinner, or party food, these puff pastry sticks with ham and cheese could truly be eaten every day!

Ingredients:
2 rolls of puff pastry (from the refrigerated section)
3 tablespoons sour cream or cream cheese
80g ham (about 4 slices)
100g cheese (e.g., Maasdam or Gouda)
1 egg, beaten
1 tablespoon sesame seeds (optional)

Preparation:

Preheat: Preheat the oven to 190°C fan/convection oven.
Prepare the dough: Roll out one sheet of puff pastry and spread evenly with sour cream or cream cheese.
Top: Top the puff pastry with ham and then with cheese slices.
Seal: Place the second sheet of puff pastry on top and press down lightly.
Cut: Cut into strips or rectangles using a pizza cutter or sharp knife.
Brush: Brush the pieces with the beaten egg and sprinkle with sesame seeds, if desired.
Bake: Place on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and bake in the preheated oven for about 18–20 minutes until golden brown.
Tip: These pastries taste best warm—crispy on the outside, meltingly delicious on the inside!
