# Slow Cooker Beer-Braised Pork Chops
This simple slow cooker recipe uses just **3 ingredients** to create tender, flavorful pork chops in a rich onion-beer braising sauce.
## Ingredients
* 4 thick-cut bone-in pork chops (about 2–2½ pounds total, at least 1 inch thick)
* 1 packet (1.5 oz) dry onion soup mix
* 1 bottle (12 oz) brown ale beer
## Instructions
### 1. Prepare the Slow Cooker
Place the pork chops in a single layer in the bottom of the slow cooker.
### 2. Add Seasoning
Sprinkle the dry onion soup mix evenly over the pork chops.
### 3. Pour in the Beer
Slowly pour the brown ale over the chops, making sure the soup mix becomes moistened and begins to dissolve.
### 4. Cook
* **Low:** 6–8 hours (recommended for the most tender results)
* **High:** 3–4 hours
The pork chops are done when they are tender and reach an internal temperature of **145°F (63°C)**.
### 5. Serve
Carefully remove the pork chops and spoon some of the cooking liquid and onions over the top before serving.
## Serving Suggestions
These pork chops pair well with:
* Mashed potatoes
* Buttered egg noodles
* Rice
* Roasted vegetables
* Green beans
* Corn on the cob
The braising liquid can also be served as a simple sauce alongside the meat.
## Tips
* Thick-cut, bone-in pork chops work best because they stay moist during the long cooking time.
* A brown ale adds malty richness, but other darker beers such as amber ales can also work.
* For a thicker gravy, transfer the cooking liquid to a saucepan after cooking and simmer until reduced, or whisk in a cornstarch slurry.
## Storage
* **Refrigerator:** Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 4 days.
* **Freezer:** Freeze for up to 3 months.
* **Reheating:** Warm gently with some of the cooking liquid to prevent the pork from drying out.
This recipe is a classic example of slow-cooker comfort food: minimal effort, hearty flavo
r, and tender pork that practically falls apart with a fork.
